EAF Squadrons? Empty EAF Squadrons?

Post by Niko Mon 19 Nov 2012 - 17:19

Hey guys,

So we need differents kind of squadron (fighter, training and maybe AWACS, Recon) so this topic is here to talk about that, about their name, their code. Currently, I think on:

- Fighter Squadron - F01 with maybe a callname like "Tigers" or "Eagles"
- Training Squadron - T02..idem
- AWACS Air Recon Squadron - ARS1

This is an example, for sure we can change them for anothers things Smile

Waiting for your opinions,

I send that to Dwayne:

• 62nd Fighter Squadron 'STRYKER' - As fighter team.
• 3rd Fighter Squadron 'TIGER' - As second fighter team.
• 9th Helicopter Squadron 'EAGLE' - As heli' team.

About Bomber Squadron: I dunno, I think Dwayne will reply to this.

What happened to AWACS Air Recon Squadron - ARS1??

If I have any specialty its definitely the large supersonics and the Vostok. All of them have military relevance and several are not too easy to fly. The models reflect supersonic flight remarkably well.

I'd just like to have a niche in EAF that fits in well. I'd need training on combat specific maneuvers. Helis - Ill get it down. I'm learning how to use a trackpad and fly a heli (its HARD).

AWACS I would have down. I can fly, train, do whatever.
How about 108th Intel Squadron 'PEREGRINE' - Please??

Hi

well, everybody can be an awacs, just need to have an mpmap and a radar so for now we decided to privilege our flight squadron. But for sure, if we have pilots and time, we'll have an AWACS squadrons. In waiting you can still be an AWACS pilots but there is no "official" AWACS squadrons.

OK its all good - The main benefiet is to have fun with it... and to pick up all enemy communication while being immune to fighters.

And there is no real need for a squadron - the same planes can be used as part of a fighter mission (especially the bombers). This may be the best option - and strategically the XB-70 would have a lot of importance. Sure be nice to damage them first followed by a full blown attack Smile

I don't care about the name and number. Peregrin seemed appropriate considering its the fastest bird. And what's up with the squadrons? Can a pilot be on multiple squadrons?

-Actually the main thing on this one is that I want to test this stuff out to see if the bombers work correctly. I know this is the wrong thread but I need bombable Smile

Now for placement and training:

My idea: since there is no training right now we just observe each other's abilities to establish a baseline. Even if the observer can't do what the're watching they can still tell if its being done right. I think only redneck can do fighters but we can all observe the rest. Even if it has to be done from a UFO Smile Some seem fairly universal i.e. Political transport, and others would require training.

This stuff isn't at all critical though and flying is about all we need to worry about for the exact moment.
